Abstract

1279. Albright, A. B. Jan. 26. Folding bedsteads.-A bedstead of the kind which is mounted at one end on pivots so that it can be turned into an upright position is secured in that position by means of a cord-operated pivoted catch g mounted on a bracket arm h arranged so that the catch engages the end bar of the bedstead. At its other end, the bedstead may be detachably mounted by means of a pivot d engaging in a slot j in a bracket. A plate k is mounted on the face of the bracket by means of a pin o passing through an arcuate slot l in the plate, and can be turned by means of a handle n so as to bring a recess m into alinement with the slot j, thus permitting the pin d to be removed from the slot. A shelf p is fitted to the underside of the bedstead to serve as a seat.
