28,010. Cox, F. J. Dec. 23. Pressure-regulating valves.-In a carburetting- plant of the type in which the supply of air and hydrocarbon is regulated by the motion of an airholder into which the air to be carburetted passes, means are provided for adjusting the pressure at which the air-supply valve is operated. Air is admitted to a pressure chamber a comprising a liquid-sealed bell j within a chamber n, the movements of the bell controlling the air-inlet valve b. The pressure in the chamber a is regulated by a weighted lever s and an adjustable link r. The liquid-supply cock x is simultaneously controlled by the lever s through an adjustable link z. The carburettor may be of the kind in which the liquid is admitted at the top and the air passes upwards from the bottom. A number of unit sets of apparatus of the type described, each having means for regulating the pressure as described above, may be provided with a common air supply.
