Abstract

21,363. Gunton, F. W. Oct. 20. Gas and like engines, governing in. The supply of explosive mixture is regulated by a suctionoperated piston or diaghragm which transmits motion to a throttle valve in the inlet pipe. The flexible diaphragm A communicates with the inlet pipe.0 through a branch pipe 0<1>, the non-return valve L, and an adjustable inlet passage controlled by a screw connexion K. Attached to the diaphragm is a spindle D which controls the motion of the throttle valve P through any suitable arrangement of levers. The tension.of the spring G may be adjusted by a nut F, and independent movements may be given to the spindle D by hand-operated levers H, R. A small air-inlet passage may be arranged behind the diaphragm A.
