5920. Heys, W. G., [International Specialties Co.]. March 17. Capsule closures and the like.-These are made of thin metal, the necessary strength being obtained from their shape. Economy of packing is also aimed at and a tearing tongue is provided. A disk 1 is turned down at 2 and 2<1>, as shown, and has a flaring rounded edge 3 with parts 6 turned up in the form of lips. A cork or paper disk 4 is provided somewhat less in width than the outside of a bottle mouth, but greater than the inside width. When the capsule is placed on a bottle, the edge 3 is forced inwards to engage the usual rim. A wide tearing tongue is provided having a hole at its outer end in which a nail or the like may be inserted.
