Abstract

1,051,033. Container closures. H. A. H. CROWTHER. July 1, 1963 [April 9, 1963], No. 14198/63. Headings B8D and B8T. An elastic closure, e.g. of low density polythene, for a flexible container with an inwardly projecting bead at its mouth has a depending flange with means for engagement under said bead. The flange may be concave outwards, Fig. 3 (not shown), and of tapering thickness towards its lower end or may be provided with an external rib 7, Fig. 4 (not shown), which may be annular or in individual spaced parts. The cap is dished at 1 and has a finger grip 5. The container is of spirally wound paper or cardboard, the base being formed by an inserted disc.
