Water-tube boilers; headers.-In a crossed watertube boiler of the type shown, special manifolds 21, arranged above the fire-doors, are connected together end to end and also to the lower headers 14 and the mud drum 19. They are adapted to be cleaned out on removal of the caps 23<b>. A bank of tubes 24 included in the water-circulation system is arranged to fill up the arch formed by the main water tubes, and is connected to side headers 12.
