8285. Southall, J. April 6. Drawings to Specification. Chain gearing.-The cam shaft of an internalcombustion engine is driven from the crank-shaft by chain gearing and sprocket-wheels. The wheel on the crank-shaft drives on to one of a pair of smaller wheels carried by an adjustable spindle for regulating the tension of the driving-chains. From the second wheel of the pair on the adjustable spindle the cam shaft is driven by a separate chain.
