Abstract
3759. Graetz, M. Feb. 15. Incandescent gas lamps.-The inverted burner mouth c, Fig. 1, is surrounded by a transparent cylinder z and a closed globe g, and the upper ends of the two flues s<1> communicate with the casing v through which an upward current of air passes. The burner tube is bent at right-angles and is provided with a chamber a<3> having a sieve s<2>. The inner and outer air supplies are admitted through the casing v as shown by the arrows. In a modification, several vertical burner tubes n, Fig. 2, are connected to a common gas chamber a, and the flues s, shaped as shown in Fig. 3 and communicating with each glass cylinder z and with the enveloping casing v, are separated by an air space from the mixing-tubes.
