22,377. Kay, M. Oct. 18. Inverted incandescent gas lamps; air supply; flues; chimneys; galleries. -The gas tube a and the burner e hang inside a flue b, at the bottom of which is a ring h to carry the chimney k ; in this way, the escape of the waste gases is practically unimpeded. Air is admitted to the mixing- chamber by tubes c extending to the outside of the flue. A gallery l to carry a globe may also be provided, and is conveniently held by screws 1 or by the screws i of the chimney ring h. Modifications are described in which the bunsen nozzle d is placed outside the flue, the flue and the gas tube being suitably bent for the purpose. The flue may be in two adjustable telescoping parts. In a cluster of such burners, the separate flues may lead to a main flue.
