Abstract
12,623. Deutsche Gasgl³hlicht Akt.- Ges. (Auerges.). June 7,1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Incandescent gas lamps.-In a lamp having one or more inverted burners, the straight burner tubes m are enclosed in an annular air casing b surrounding the flue r and communicating with the external air at its lower part, the top of the flue r being higher than the air inlets of the burners. The burner heads l are attached to the tubes m below and close to the bottom of the casing b, and the casing or its lower end may be covered by a non-conductor of heat, such as asbestos. The inlets o, through which air is admitted to the globe g, are so dimensioned relatively to the flue that a reduced pressure exists in the globe, thereby exerting a suction action in the burner tube.
