Incandescent gas burners.-The mixing-tube 1 consists of an elbow-tube, the air inlets 4 being at the horizontal end, and the mantle 3 at the vertical end. In some cases, the burner is connected to the fixed gas pipe 5 by a flexible tube, and the burner and its shade 7 are suspended by coiled springs. According to the Provisional Specification, the burner, when suspended by springs may have a trumpet-shaped horizontal end fitting over the fixed gas pipe, so as to form the air inlet, and may also be formed with a double-elbow mixing- pipe.
