Gas and vapour burners.-An atmospheric gas or vapour burner is provided with several revolvable or slidable nipples of the same or of different diameters, so that any nipple can be made to communicate with the gas supply. Fig. 1 shows the application to an outdoor inverted lamp. The nipple openings b are formed in a casing c, rotably mounted on a plug d connected to the gassupply pipe g, and the air supply to the transverse tube e, in which the casing is arranged, is admitted through adjustable apertures n and between two casings m, f, the inner casing terminating in a chimney i. A sliding ring p closes the space between the mantle holder and the mixing-tube a, and the globe may have an air inlet at its base, nr its upper part, or both.
