19,040. Hillyer, J. S. Sept. 20. Turbines.-A paddle - wheel for a ship or for use as a current motor is formed of a shaft 9, fixed transversely to the main shaft 7, and provided with paddles 14. A pinion 10, keyed to the shaft 9, is formed with teeth 11 engaging the annular fixed cams 3, 4. The rotation of the shaft 7 causes the blades 14 to be feathered by means of the cam-surfaces. In a modification, three radial arms 9 are used, with a corresponding number of blades and cam-surfaces.
