Abstract
14,853. Paxman, J. N., and Davey, Paxman, & Co. July 19. Gas or explosive-vapour engines, carburetting in. Relates to vaporizers of the type in which hot air and liquid fuel, entering through the passages E, C, pass into an annular vaporizing chamber formed between the cylinder D and the outer casing B, and then escape through the outlet passage C', and consists in adding a pipe, shown in Fig. 2 enclosed in an asbestos-lined chamber J, having an aperture j for the reception of a blow-lamp flange. Air admitted to the passage E, through the valve F, is heated by passing in contact with the outside casing of the vaporizer. If preferred, ribs c may be formed in one or both of the passages C, C<1>. The vaporizing cylinder D is screwed into the chamber B at one end and bears on a seat at the other, as shown in Fig. 1, and is heated by exhaust gases entering at the inlet a and leaving at the outlet a<1>.
