Abstract

190,406. Vidal, C. H. March 31, 1922. Wheels; spindle-mountings.- A grinding-wheel spindle D, Fig. 1, is supported at one end in a conical bearing J and at the other end in a sleeve E resisting axial movement of the spindle in both directions, the conical bearing being adjusted by axial adjustment of the sleeve E. The sleeve is screwed into the housing and is secured in its adjusted position by suitable means. The grinding-wheel L is secured by a nut N on a sleeve M keyed to the spindle, the sleeve M being secured against a shoulder d<3> by a nut O. Fig. 2 shows another method for mounting the wheel L.
