Abstract

142,585. Panton, W. J., Ward, J. F., and Willis, J. T. Feb. 27, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Castors.-A castor is provided with a tubular or cylindrical sleeve a rigidly clamped between the arms c of the horn by means of a pin d passing axially through the sleeve. The wheel b preferably comprises a steel liner with an external layer of brass, and may rotate either on convex annular projections on the sleeve a as shown in Fig. 1, or upon ball bearings as shown in Fig. 3. Alternatively, the annular projections may be formed on the inside of the wheel, the surface of the sleeve being plain. The ball bearings may be replaced by roller bearings.
