The cover is held in position by means of retaining- wires e secured by bolts f. The wires e are preferably not endless, their ends being guided in a a tube. The cover may be subjected to any desired initial tension by means of the bolts f, the rim d being held in suspension to a corresponding degree. The edge of the cover rests at each side between a flange g formed on the rim and a ring h formed with a flange m which bears against, and may be bolted to, the felloe. The rings h are secured to the rim d by the bolts f which pass through stepped washers i and slots k in the rim.
