27,723. Trooquette, P. J. Dec. 17. Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims.-The tyre consists of a cover 1 of rubber canvas with an india-rubber tread 2. A hoop 3 of wood, ebonite, or other material, secured either between steel bands 4, as shown in Fig. 1, or in a hoop of channel-section as shown in Fig. 2, is embedded in an india-rubber core 5 attached to the outer cover. The rim is formed in two sections 7 which partially overlap, each section having flanges 12, 13 to engage the felloe and tyre respectively. A metal ring 6, adapted to engage the edges of the outer cover 1, is secured to the rim 7 and felloe 11 by bolts 10. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the sections 7 of the rim are formed with wedge-shaped edges 8 adapted to engage the tyre. In this case, bolts 9 are passed through the rim, cover, and ring 6.
