14,843. Sporton, H. H. July 3. Multitubular boilers.- Three multitubular boilers for land or marine purposes are heated by a single furnace enclosed by them. Fig. 4 shows the arrangement. The heated gases from the furnace 8 enter a chamber at the back and pass to the front through the tubes of side boilers B, returning through the tubes of the upper boiler A and thence to the uptake. Pipes i connect the side boilers with the upper boiler, which is surmounted by a steam drum G. Access doors are provided to the chambers at the front and back.
