2135. Eudelin, M. A. Jan. 27. Gas or explosive-vapour engines, carburetting in. Oil is supplied to a spacious chamber e with a large inlet valve f and a comparatively-small outlet g. The suction of the motor piston draws the oil through the small orifices l in the cap j, the valve f serving as a piston to expel the oil forcibly. The cap j is provided with an arm k of V-section over each orifice l. The oil crosses the path of the air current entering at m. The carburetting is controlled by a valve p, which opens the port o as it closes the ports u, and vice versÔ. The sprayer may be in the form of one or two flexible discs a', b<1>, c', Figs. 3 and 4. The carburetter has a heating-jacket c, which may be situated around the sprayer, and there may be a bye-pass at the valve f to fill the chamber e at starting.
