Making boxes.-In covering fancy boxes of cardboard, wood, and the like with paper or other covering, the latter, which is preferably fed from a roll d carried on the table a is passed through a folder e, the guide-channel h of which gradually changes, as shown in Figs. 6, 7, and 8, until ultimately one limb of the guide is at right-angles to the other. When the strip thus folded emerges from the guide and passes over the pasting-roller c, only the lower flange is pasted. In a modification, the strip is folded in a corrugated tube, so that the adhesive will be applied in strips along the raised parts of the corrugations. When applied to the box, the covering will adhere only in the pasted parts, and the unattached portion may be used to serve as flies &c.
