Studs.-Relates to collars, rings, and bosses, for shafting and spindles for holding pulleys, wheels, and other objects in position thereon, the purpose being to construct the collars in such a manner that they have no projecting set pins or parts. Fig. 2 shows a collar constructed in this manner, the collar being fitted over shafting. The collar a is formed with a projecting screwed portion or shank a<2>, split horizontally as at a<4> and tapered externally. Upon this projecting portion the ring- shaped nut c is screwed so that the yielding shank is made to grip the shafting. The rings a, c are provided with holes so that they may be gripped by a suitable spanner.
