Annealing.-An annealing-pot for use in annealing wire comprises a base-piece A formed with tubular parts B, D and a cover G formed with a central tubular part J which fits within an annular space between the upper part of D and a tubular part E formed thereon. The wire to be annealed is placed in the annular space between two removable tubes M, N placed upon the basepiece A and provided with a cover O. The space between the ring N, which is perforated, and the tubular part D is filled with coal dust charged through passages F', which are afterwards covered with a ring F. Fine sand is charged into the annular spaces c, to make tight joints for the edges of the cover G.
