Loom dobbies.-Openshed dobbies, such as are described in Specification No. 8000, A.D. 1897, are convertible into shut or centre shed dobbies by making the stud 4, on which the heald levers 2 turn, movable vertically in slots 5 in the levers instead of being fixed, radius slots 6 being also provided for a fixed pin 3. For open-shed action, the stud is fixed at the top of the slots, while for shut or centre shed action the s t u d 4 is operated from any moving part of the loom or dobby in such a manner that it is at the top of the slots when the shed is required to be open and at the bottom when it is to be closed.
