Abstract

189,726. Mallon, A. P. June 7, 1922. Metallic spring bodies and cores.- A helical spring - steel tyre is made in sections 11 with lapped pin-andslot joints 16, 12, flaps 21 being secured to the edges of the sections to fill the spaces between the convolutions. The tyre in ring form engages a helical groove in the rim 4 and is secured by transverse bolts 7. Reinforcing leaf springs 18 may be fitted inside the coils, as shown in Fig. 2. The treads are fitted with rubber blocks 22 held against circumferential and transverse displacement by flanged plates 24 and lugs 23 respectively
