Sash and like fastenings.-The pivoted cross-bar a of a fastening for sashes or other articles has a nick d, so that, on a tool being inserted between the sashes to press back the bar, the tool is jammed between the bar and the plate c to which it is pivoted. The bar carries a roller e bearing on a spring f to retain the bar in the locked or unlocked position, and has a projection i bearing on the curved plate g to draw the sashes together. The plate may be recessed to receive the projection i when in the locked position.
