11,093. Woodall, S. May 13. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Sash fastenings; fastenings.- A fastening comprises a bar C working loosely on the spindle of the handle E, and a bar D fixed to the spindle and moving over the bar C between the stops K, L thereon. The spindle is mounted on the lower sash. When the handle is turned to fasten the sashes, the bar D is turned till it comes into contact with the stop L, when it carries the bar C forward. The bar D raises the spring catch F by means of a projection J thereon, and allows the bar C to pass underneath ; it then releases the catch to lock the bar C by the projection I. In unfastening, the bar D moves to engage the projection K and in so doing raises the spring F to release the bar C. The underpart of the keep G is wedge-shaped, so that the parts are brought together when fastened. The fastener is stated to be applicable to boxes, show-cases, and cabinets, as well as to doors and windows.
