The casing A has a slot a through which passes a thumb-screw D engaging a sliding bolt C in the casings. The bolt may be secured in the locked position shown or in the retracted position. In the former position, both casings are gripped between a disc d<1> on the thumb-screw, and the bolt, preventing the sashes from rattling.
