Abstract

188,427. Martin, W. Aug. 27, 1921. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-A device for catching oil thrown by the fly-wheel 6 of a motor vehicle and for supplying it to the parts of the transmission-gear comprises a shallow trough 1 having side walls 2, 3 and an end wall 4, the other end 5 being open to receive the oil thrown up. Oil passes from the trough through holes 11 in the base. A channel 12 may also be provided in the end wall, and channels may be formed in the side walls. The device is secured beneath the transmission cover by the cover bolts 10 which pass through ears 8 on flanges 7.
