Abstract

188,161. Rombach, T. Oct. 6, 1921. Battery lamps. - In a portable electric battery lamp, the lamp bulb 7 and reflector 8 are carried at the end of a movable arm 4 which is adapted by its movement to operate a switch to open or close the lamp circuit. The front of the battery casing 1 is left free and may be used for holding a watch, mirror, writing pad or other useful article or for advertising purposes. The arm 4 passes through a slot in the top of the casing 1 and is pivoted on a pin secured to the casing. In its forward position the end of the arm 4 bears against a contact strip so completing the lamp circuit. When the lamp bulb is pushed back the end of the arm 4 leaves the contact strip and so breaks the lamp circuit. The lamp is provided with means by which it may be supported on a table or suspended on a wall.
