346,460. Illuminating pianos. DANNHAUSER, J. F. W. and DANNH€USER, C. A. O., (trading as DANNH€USER & CO., ING. F. W.), 30, Kolonnadenstrasse, Leipsic, Germany.) Nov. 16, 1929, No. 35101. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1928. [Class 75 (iv).] For the illumination of a piano a tubular electric lamp bulb is disposed along a projecting front edge of the lid and preferably concealed by, or let into, the edge. In the form shown the bulbs are arranged within a casing 6 disposed behind a border 7 which is detached from the remainder of the lid. The casing 6 is carried by a flat slide 4 which runs in guide rails 2 on an insulating baseplate 1 fixed to the lid. The plate 1 carries contact springs 11 which are connected to the main terminals 12 and are adapted to be engaged by switch blades 10 carried by insulating pieces 9 which are mounted on the slide 4 and to which are connected the leads from the bulbs, so that the latter are lit when the slide 4 is drawn out to the front. The casing 6 may be rotated for controlling the direction of the light emitted through the windows and preferably is insulated from the slide 4 and border 7 by means of cork.
