Abstract

465,817. Toy figure targets. GOODE, J. S. Aug. 12, 1935, No. 22689. Void. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1934. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy figure is provided with electrical contact means actuated by a missile to produce optical, sound and mechanical effects. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a figure 3 adapted to have a missile projected at it by hand, catapult or air gun comprises an open mouth 4 having a pivotally mounted tongue 5 adapted to be depressed by a missile to close the contacts 6 to complete through the battery 8 the circuit of a sound emitting device 7 and/or one or more electric lamps 9. The lamps 9 may be arranged in the eye openings 10, in the mouth 4 or exteriorly to effect the flood lighting of the figure. The contacts 6 or further contacts may be arranged to control the circuit of an electric motor adapted to impart movement to the figure or parts thereof which latter may be rotatably or slidably mounted on a pillar or spindle. The optical, sound and mechanical effects may be produced simultaneously under the control of one set of contacts or separately by independent sets of contacts closed by separate missiles. In a modification the tongue 5 carries on its underside a mercury switch. The head of the figure may be removable and suitable flaps, doors or openings provided in the body to provide access to the wiring and lighting or sound units.
