Abstract

696,713. Dolls &c. RUIZ, A. S. June 5, 1951. [June 6, 1950] No. 13353/51. Class 132 (iii). The head of a doll or similar toy is movable relative to the body, and, as shown, the pivoted eyes of a doll have a counterweight rod 5 to which are attached cords 1, 8 passing respectively to a point 4 on the inside of the back of the doll and to a point 8a on a pivoted arm 10. The cords pass through eyelets 2 and when the doll's head is turned or the arm 10 is moved the eves are caused to move. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) a control cord passes out through an opening in the doll's back and has a stop thus permitting the cord to be controlled manually. A talking mechanism may be provided and the cord 1 may then be attached to the actuating member of the mechanism which is operated simultaneously with the opening or closing of the eyes.
