Abstract

646,308. Dolls' heads and eyes. RATCLIFF, G. R. March 22, 1948, No. 8405. [Class 132 (iii)] The head of a doll or the like has a "sleeping eye" assemblage which comprises, Fig. 3, a bridge member 10 with a portion 12 acting as a depth stop, and eyeballs 16 permanently orientated on a rod 18 by an arm 21 of a pendulum member (not shown) engaging slots in the eyeballs. The assemblage is mounted in the doll's head by sliding the bridge member 10 into preformed grooves 32 in the face half 30 and then applying the rear half of the head which maintains the assemblage in its fully forward position. Modifications to the bridge and pendulum member are illustrated in Figs. 4 to 9 (not shown).
