Abstract

731,925. Dolls &c. VALENTINE V. Feb. 24,1953 [Nov. 24, 1951], No. 24883/51. Class 132(3). Movable members, i.e. the limbs and/or head, of a doll or imitation animal are releasably secured by press-stud means to the trunk or body of the toy. In a limbbody joint, Fig. 2, a connecting member 6 in the limb-member comprises a stud having a screwed shank with a slotted head 8 and passes through washers 3, 4 which clamp the edges of the limb 1. A female member 13 in the body for receiving the head 8 contains a U-shaped spring 14 and co-operates with a washer 12 to clamp the skin of the body member. Fig. 4 shows stud portions 21, 22 formed as parts of the halves of a moulded hard-bodied doll. Separate press-stud members which may be of metal or of the same material as the moulding itself may be moulded in position on the trunk, limbs or head. Alternatively the non-metallic press-stud members may be stuck on. Grooves or ribs may be provided in a joint to limit the rotation. Press-stud members of a resilient material such as rubber are specified.
