[Class 132 (iii)] In the manufacture of a doll, model animal &c. the body is made in at least two parts e.g. halves from a plastic material by an injection moulding process, the movable members being positioned between said parts and the latter subsequently joined together. The body head and limbs are each made in two parts by the injection moulding process in which suitable material such as celluloid initially in powdered, flaked or thermo-plastic form, is heated and forced under pressure into cold moulds or dies. The two parts are provided with means for locating the parts in correct relation when brought together for fixing by adhesive. The head A and limbs having been thus assembled carry flanged cylindrical extensions 15 which are laid in corresponding semi-circular recesses in the back part B<SP>2</SP> of the body, so that when the front part B<SP>1</SP> of the body is applied thereto, the head and limbs are rotatably secured to the body, the freedom of movement being restricted by a rubber ring 23 or a small compression spring and by the engagement of a radially projecting finger 33 on spaced stops 34. The extensions of the arms may be connected by a tension spring, while the extensions of the head and legs may be connected by tension springs to a peg attached to the back part B<SP>2</SP> of the body (Figs. 4, 5 not shown). Instead of the joints described, the body and associated movable members may be connected by ball and socket joints. The eyes 21 of the sleeping kind may be secured in half-ball sockets by a solid piece 22 of any suitable material formed with bearing portions.
