627,443. Toy animals and dolls. ROSE, S. May 6, 1947, No. 12253. [Class 132 (iii)] A doll, toy animal or the like comprises a head portion, which is supported on a stem or body portion, in which is incorporated a device which is manipulated by hand, and which comprises an L-shaped lever, one arm of which forms a part of the mouth or beak, whilst the other extends downwardly within said stem or body and operates against sound emitting mechanism. A toy dog, as shown in Fig. 1, consists of a hollow body A, which can conveniently be held in the hand, to which is attached a head B, which has a movable lower jaw. C pivoted to the body at D. The lower jaw C is part of an L-shaped lever E the other arm of which extends downwardly within the body of the dog and has an operating lug F which projects from the body. A deflatable bulb G, arranged so as to be compressed by the lever arm E, carries, at its upper end, a reed G<SP>1</SP> to produce a noise like the bark of a dog when the bulb is compressed. The ear H may be carried by a link J pivotally connected at K to the lever arm E so that it wags when the lever moves, or alternatively, the lever may be arranged to wag the dog's tail. The toy may be made to resemble any animal or the like and is constructed to produce the appropriate noise.
