Animals; dolls.-A doll or toy animal having a pivoted head fitted with a pivoted lower jaw member is so constructed that upon turning the head .away from or toward either side of the normal position, the lower jaw is caused, respectively, to move downwardly to open the mouth or upwardly to close the mouth. The head a of a toy animal is pivotable about a pin k by means of which it is attached to the body part m. The lower jaw f is pivoted to the head and is normally maintained in closed position by a length of elastic cord. The lower side of the jaw f is connected by a cord n to the bellows p of a sound-producing device, so that upon turning the head to one side the cord n is drawn taut and causes the mouth to open. The other end of the cord n is passed through an aperture in the side of the body part and attached to one of the arms q. A downward movement of the arm causes the mouth to open, and the bellows to collapse, thus operating the sound-producing device. Specification 18061/94 is referred to.
