Abstract

214,661. Gans, O. April 20, 1923, [Convention date]. Dolls. - A walking doll has its head detachably secured to the body, and means are provided for transmitting to the head the motion of the limbs. The head is fitted into a cupshaped receptacle c which in turn fits into a cup a in the upper portion of the body. The receptacle, c has an extension c' which is connected by means of an intermediate member d with a member d' pivoted on a bracket m in the body. A spiral spring e, or an elastic cord, is secured at its lower end to the member d<1> and at its upper end is connected to a rod h in the head. By pulling the head upwards, the spring can be detached from the rod h to allow replacement of the head. Arms f on the member d<1> engage rods g which oscillate with the movements of the legs of the doll. These movements are transmitted through the spring and the member d to the head which can also be set to any desired position.
