Abstract
466,372. Toys. MARX & CO., Ltd., L. March 27, 1936, No. 9215. Convention date, March 27, 1935. [Class 132 (iii)] Vehicles, such as motorless fire engines V, V<1>, Fig. 1, are ejected from a sheet-metal firestation or other building B by repeated depression of a spring-returned actuating member A simulating a chimney and comprising a rack 66 for actuating a freely over-running vanedrotor siren or bell S, Figs. 1 and 5, and having an end 90, Figs. 2 and 5, which depresses a plate 92, provided with arm 94, Fig. 3, to release a spring-controlled detent 44 from the ejector 30 which is moved under the action of the spring 32 to eject the vehicle V through the doors 26. The doors 26 may be so balanced as to normally swing to closed position. The plate 92 carries a second arm 34<1>, Fig. 3, shorter than the arm 94 so that it does not overlie a second detent 44<1> when the plate 92 is moved to the right in Fig. 3 by a lug 93 thereon coacting with a cam surface 100 on the ejector 30 when the ejector 30 is moved rearwardly to set the device. A spring 104 moves the plate 92 to the left after the ejector has been released to position arm 941 over detent 441 and on a second depression of the actuating member A the detent 441 releases the ejector 301 to expel a second vehicle V<1> under the action of the spring 32<1>, and the siren S is actuated a second time. More than two vehicles or a single vehicle may be employed, and in the latter case the plate 92 may be omitted.
