Abstract
185,716. Bedaux, C. E. Sept. 8, 1921, [Convention date]. Race games, mechanical.-Relates to apparatus for playing a race game and, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, comprises a housing 1 having an inner compartment 5 closed by two doors 7 pivoted on hinges 8 and provided with opening-springs 9. The lower portion 10 of the rear wall 4<1> of the compartment 5 is attached to guid'e-rods 20 slidable in cylinders 21 carried on a cross-bar 11, and is retained in position against the action of springs 36 by the engagement of a catch 15 with a projection 14. A second catch 26 is adapted to hold or release the doors 7. Both catches are cperable from outside the housing by a lever 30. In playing the game, a number of pieces 31, Fig. 6, having weighted bases 37, are shaken up in a compartment 5. The lever 30 is then pressed down, allowing the doors 7 to open and the wall 10 to move forwards and eject the pieces on to a graduated race track. The force of the ejection may be adjusted by a set-screw 24.
