Abstract

Boxing games, mechanical. -Appliances for playing a boxing game comprise two articulated puppets arranged upon a platform and adapted to be operated by rods which are held by the players and are attached to the jointed forearms of the puppets. Each puppet is supported on a rod B, Fig. 2, projecting through a slot e in the platform E and mounted on a carriage D slidable on two rods d<1> parallel to the slot e. The body F of each puppet is connected to the pelvis C by a spiral spring c and may move into the positions F<1>, F<2>, when struck. A number of projecting plungers I are provided in the body portion, these plungers bear scoring values and are adapted to slide inwardly when struck. The plunger j<2> is spring-pressed and bears against the upper end of a lever J which is pivoted at j<1> and engages at its lower end with a hook g attached to the base G. A blow on the plunger j<2> causes the lever J to disengage the hook g and allows the body portion to pivot about a hinge f under the action of a spring g<3> into the position F<3>. The arms K, Fig. 4, are jointed to the shoulder by an elastic band passing through the body. The fore-arms are connected to the arms by hinges k<1>. The arms are formed with recesses k<3> to allow the operating rods k<2> to be freely manipulated.
