Irrigators and like appliances.-A douche tube for the application of cold liquid to the rectum for the treatment of hµmorrhoids &c. comprises a tubular rod T, which may be tapered, as shown in Fig. 2, or may be cylindrical, and which is formed with an olivarv end O and with a flat or concave perforated ring C at its base. Longitudinal grooves R which may taper upwardly or downwardly are in communication with the central liquid-supply passage by backwardly directed holes t. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5, the upper portion L of the tube is smooth whilst the lower portion is of hollow cruciform section and comprises the central perforated tube F have integral ribs K so as to form grooves G. The grooves G may extend to one or two quadrants only, and may be of uniform length or of varying length as shown. The appliances may be formed wholly of aluminium or glass, or the lower part mav be of aluminium or glass and the olivary head of any non-conductor of heat.
