Description

O. F. BOEHME DOUCHE NOZZLE May 15, 1934.
Filed Nov. 23, 1932 M W E O B E O T T 0 Patented May 15, 1934 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to improvements in the nozzles of syringes adapted for use by women as an irrigating douche wherever such use may be found necessary or desirable.
5 The main object of the invention is to provide a comparatively large cup-shaped guide adapted to encircle the mouth of a womb, and having a self centering nozzle extension projecting up through the bottom of the cup-shaped guide.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this type constructed to give spray surface of comparatively large area.
Other objects of the invention will become apparent as the detailed description thereof proceeds.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bulb syringe embodying the present invention;
Figure 2 is a central longitudinal section through the improved nozzle of said syringe; and Figure 3 is an end elevation of the nozzle shown in Figures 1 and 2.
As shown in the drawing, the syringe comprises the usual flexible bulb or reservoir 1 having a nozzle 2 frictionally or otherwise secured to said bulb. The nozzle 2 has a bore 3 extending lengthwise therethrough.
The end of the nozzle remote from the bulb 1 is laterally expanded to form a cup-shaped guide 4, the walls of which are symmetrical with respect to the bore 3. Any desired number of apertures 5 are formed through the wall of the cupshaped guide; and a centering projection 6 extends up from the bottom of the guide to enter the mouth of a womb and center the syringe properly.
The operation and advantages of the instrument will be apparent from inspection of the drawing.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, the construction and operation of the invention will be readily understood without requiring a more extended explanation. Various changes in the form, proportion, and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the spirit or scope of my invention.
What I claim is:
1. A douche comprising a nozzle having a reservoir connected to one end thereof, said nozzle having a bore extending lengthwise therethrough, and a cup-shaped guide extending outwardly from the other end of said nozzle and having the wall thereof symmetrically disposed relative to said bore, said guide being provided with apertures extending radially of said bore through the wall thereof and below the rim of said guide.
2. A douche comprising a nozzle having a reservoir connected to one end thereof, said nozzle having a bore extending lengthwise therethrough, a cup-shaped guide extending outwardly from the other end of said nozzle and having the wall thereof symmetrically disposed relative to said bore, and a projection extending within said guide in alignment with said nozzle from the bottom of said guide, said guide being provided with 85 apertures extending radially of said bore through the wall thereof and below the rim of said guide, the axial bore of said nozzle being continued through said projection.
