Abstract
186,654. Lundin, C. W. June 1, 1921. Linear dimension gauges. - Comprises means for securing the anvils in adjustable limit gauges of the snap type. The ends of the bow 1 are forked to receive a rectangular anvil 4 at one end and two rectangular anvils 6, 6 at the other end, the combined cross-sectional area of the anvils 5, 6 being equal to the sectional area of the anvil 4. The anvil 4 is long and is held in any adjusted position by a liner 8 provided with conical holes into which take conical screws 9 passing through similar holes in one limb of the fork slightly out of alignment with the holes in the liner 8, and screwing into the other limb. The liner 8 thus jams the anvil 4 against the bottom of the fork. The anvils 5, 6 on which the limits are set by moving the screws 10, 11 are similarly secured, the inner anvil 6 being also gripped by washers through which pass bolts 7. A similar bolt 7 may be fitted also to the anvil 4, and the conical bolts 9 securing the latter may engage notches in the edge of the'anvil, the liner 8 being dispensed with.
