630,903. Bolts ; screw fastenings. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN. Feb. 14, 1947, No. 4415. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1946. [Classes 44 and 89 (i)] A fastening device for securing a deformable member such as a sheet 2 to a rigid member such as a plate 1, comprises a plug or bush 5 having a flanged end 5a and of such a length that it extends through the sheet 2 with the flat under surface of the flange in contact with the surface of the sheet and the opposite end of the plug lies substantially in or just short of the lower surface of the sheet, and means for locking the plug to the rigid member such as a screw 4. The deformable member may comprise a rigid frame 1 to which is secured the sheet 2 of deformable material, and a protective sheet 3 of metal, the rigid member being a frame member 6. As shown on the right hand side of the Figure, the bush 5 is long as the thickness of the sheets 2 and 3, or as shown on the left, may be slightly shorter. The upper endof the bush 5 may be domed and countersunk. The plug and screw may be formed in one piece.
