Abstract

186,394. Bulmer, J. W., and Einns, W. June 18, 1921. Clearing-apparatus.-A slub or knot catcher for spinning, twisting, winding, and like machines comprises bars A, B with milled edges as shown in Figs. 1 and 4, or a rotary roller S and a plate V as shown in Fig. 8, secured at one end in a supporting bracket and provided with transverse grooves forming a recess E to facilitate the escape of fluff. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the bars butt at the part C and the width of the slot is determined by the milling, but in the arrangement shown in Figs 4 and 8 gauge plates M correspondig to the counts of the yarn are used.
