Abstract

186,371. Royle, W. May 17, 1921. Mud-guards rotating with wheels.-A flange a, preferably made of rubber, or partly of rubber and partly of metal, is secured to the side of the wheel by an angle-ring h and is formed with a thickened base so as to provide a space between itself and the tyre. The ring is either formed with lugs through which the securing pins or bolts pass into the rim, or is split and sprung into a groove in the rim. To increase its flexibility the flange may be formed with annular corrugations or curved outwardly at its edge as indicated in dotted lines.
