Supporting. - A supporting and connecting device for electric fittings comprises a receptacle 10 disposed in a recess and having a plate 12 flush with the surface on which the fitting 11 is to be supported and a removable plug 25 carrying contact blades 26 adapted to engage spring blades in the receptacle 10, hooked fastening members 19, 20 adapted to be passed through holes in the plate 12 and engaged with the rear thereof being provided on the plug. The lower hooks 19 are rigidly secured to the plug 25 and the upper hooks 20 are pivotally secured thereto at 22 and are influenced by a U-shaped spring 23, one end of which is secured to the pivoted hooks, the other end bearing on the plug so as to cause the hooks 20 to engage the plate 12 and secure the fitting in position when assembled. The fitting is disconnected by depressing a plunger 25<a> bearing on the upper hooks so as to disengage the latter from the plate, thus permitting the lower hooks to be disengaged by swinging the fitting 11 downwards.
