Abstract

281,091. Johnson, F. A. L. Nov. 26, 1926. Door holders for hinged articles.-In a holder of the kind with a spring- pressed bolt on the door adapted to engage with the floor and with a spring- pressed locking plate for maintaining the bolt in any set position, the bolt 5 is a single-piece member and its end is formed as a resilient pad 16. The base plate 6 secured to the lower side of the door 8 is formed with lugs 6<a>, 6<b>, which serve as bearing members for the bolt. A spring 11 for returning the bolt to its inoperative position rests on a cross-bar 6<c> that projects into the slots 5<a> in the side of the bolt. The friction plate 17 is pivotally mounted at 17<a> and a spring 18 forces it out of the horizontal position to bind against the outer surface of the bolt. To move the bolt the friction plate 17 is pressed down, when the bolt may be pressed down onto the floor against the action of its spring.
